Hassan: Former Minister H. D. Revanna said that his party’s candidates will win seven seats in the District in the 2023 general elections and no one can avoid it.
Inaugurating a workers’ meeting organized by the JD (S) at open air theatre near Sri Chennakeshava Temple here, he said, “Let the Congress party release the list of works in the past when it was in power. Our party has great respect for the elders and in the coming elections, our candidates will win in all the Taluks of the District.
The Congress, which did not raise its voice in favor of the poor and the farmers in the Lok Sabha, has started a ‘Prajadhvani Yatra’, alleging that they are doing an election gimmick by promising to provide 200 units of free electricity.
MP Prajwal Revanna said, “Congress and BJP are spreading misinformation that we are not doing any work for the Malnad region and are confined only to the plain region.
“But we have given Rs. 150 Crore grant to Malnad region, instead BJP and Congress parties are trying to lure people by distributing sarees, cooker, biryani, our party is not showing any lure because workers are the lifeblood of our party. They are doing this kind of allure work and there are JD (S) workers in every house, he said.
“The leaders have to do the work of reaching out to them. Belur Constituency was earlier recorded as a backward Constituency. However, our party was not in power. Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda, and Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy, with the hard work of Revanna, brought the grant for Belur Taluk and erased the backward tag, he said, adding that if everyone fights unitedly, our party cannot be stopped from coming to power.
