Hassan: Veerashaiva Lingayat Yuva Sena district unit president N Lokesh demanded giving tickets to Veerashaiva Lingayat Samaj in the Belur Araseikere assembly constituency of the district.
Speaking at the press conference, he said that the Veerashaiva Lingayat community of Belur and Araseikere in the district have a large number in the caste-wise equation. In Belur, the Veerashaiva Lingayat community has a population of 65,000 and Araseikere has a population of 80,000.
Therefore, Veerashaiva said that he will also request BJP national president Nadda, who will arrive in Belur tomorrow, to give priority to the society based on gender and to create an environment conducive to BJP’s victory.
BJP election results in Belur and Arasikere have been consistently opposite. The main reason is that BJP did not give a ticket to the Veerashaiva Lingayat candidate. In Arasikere, BJP candidate Basavaraj won only once in 2004, Sakleshpur Arakalagudu of the district and Chikmagalur of the neighbouring district also have a significant number of our community, so the decision taken in Belur and Arasikere will affect neighbouring constituencies as well.
Nadda said that if the Veerashaiva Lingayat community, which has been traditionally supporting the BJP party for several decades, is ignored, there is a high possibility of affecting the elections in five constituencies, so it will be brought to Nadda’s attention that it is appropriate to take Veerashaiva Lingayat candidates to the party.
Avinash, Manoj, and Dileep were there.
