Let CBI-CID investigate: Committed to a legal fight

Hassan: Bagar has not done any illegal land allotment as the president of the Hukum Committee; Belur MLA KS Lingesh clarified that he is ready to be hanged if he proves that he has done something illegal.

Speaking at the press conference, he was appointed as a member of the Bagar Hukum Committee on July 26, 2019, and served till March 28, 2023.

On this occasion, 720 acres of land were allotted and given to 562 beneficiaries. But recently the taluk BJP president Adaguru Anand held a press conference and said that it is not right that the taluk bailiffs have requested the police department to arrest Lingesh as president of Bagar Hukum Samiti for his involvement in the 2750 acre land scam.

Special Court of People’s Representatives of Bangalore has directed to investigate 15 people involved in the illegal land allotment and file a report by July 7, 2023. As a representative of the people, I respect the order of the court. But Anand’s statement has sent a wrong message to the public, he said.

As the President of Bagar Hukum Samiti, I approved only 562 files and sanctioned a total of 720 acres of land. But it is not correct that the 2750 land allotment was illegal; Lingesh said that he is ready for CBI and CID investigation if necessary and if the charges are proven, he is ready to be hanged.

In the complaint document, it has been stated that illegal sanction has been given in the villages within 3 kilometres from Belur municipality, about 38 lands of these villages have been dismissed and there is no land sanction concerning those villages and Hema Vati Yagachi also said that the lands identified for the drowning farmers’ sanction have not been sanctioned.

If any land allotment is to be done based on the report of the officers, the committee will allot the land to the deserving. However, if there is any illegality, the officials are responsible for it and not the committee, after the report of the committee, the Kavu Tehsildar conducts a site inspection and reports on the land sanction. Lingesha clarified that illegality cannot take place in such a situation.

I have been deeply hurt by the accusations against me, and till now I have not been involved in any illegality in public life.

Lingesh made it clear that he is ready for any investigation as some people have made allegations against me for their selfish gain.

JDS Belur taluk unit president Tocha Anantha Subbaraya and Mallesh were present at the press conference.
