Hassan: Taluk Congress Leader Shreyas Patel strongly condemned the move of a Government official to seek votes in favour of Former JD (S) Minister H. D. Revanna as the counting of votes for the Assembly elections began.
He was speaking at a press conference at his residence in the town. At the BEO School programme, he sought votes for the sitting MLA and appealed to the people of the village to extend more support to him.
“Two months ago, I had written a letter to the Election Commission of India, State, District and Taluk Election Officers including the Central Election Commission, alleging that the officials who have been camping in Holenarasipura Assembly Constituency for the last 10 years have been behaving unilaterally. This has resulted in non-transparent governance. Such officials have made it impossible to hold free elections in the constituency. Therefore, such Government officials should be transferred and steps should be taken to conduct free and fair elections, he asserted.
