Election of President of APMC Society in Belur

Belur: JDS-backed Hagare Kantaraju was elected unopposed as the new president of Belur Taluk Agricultural Produce Marketing Co-operative Society on Tuesday.
Elections were scheduled on Tuesday for the post of president, which was vacated by the resignation of Mallegowda, who was the previous president of the Taluk Vyavasayo Tpanna Sales Cooperative Association. Somesh and Hagare Kantaraju had submitted their nomination papers. Later, after discussing which of the two should be the president in the presence of JDS leaders, as MKR Somesh withdrew his nomination paper, returning officer and deputy registrar of cooperative societies Shakku announced that Kantaraju was elected unopposed after the meeting.

Later, as per the agreement, Somesh received the nomination papers and Kantaraju was elected as the president. He said that in the coming days, let us advance the growth of the association with all enthusiasm.
The new president Kantaraju said that we will work for the development of the association with the cooperation of the directors and shareholders of our association. We are going to provide the necessary facilities for the benefit of the farmers. He also said that he would congratulate Nirde Shakaru and all the leaders of the JDS party who helped President Nagalu.
Taluk Vyavasa Yotpanna Sales Cooperative Association Vice President Raja Shekariah, Directors Mallegowda, M.K.R. Somesh, Ravikumar, S. Nagesh, BL Laxman, Kumar Kanaguppe, Vijay Kumar and other JDS leaders like M.K. R. Nagesh, Dilip, APMC ex-president CH Mahesh, TAP ex-president Rangegowda and others were there.
