AT Ramaswamy joins resigns as an MLA, joins BJP

Hassan: MLA  AT Ramaswamy from Arakalagudu Constituency resigned from the MLA post, left JDS and joined BJP.

AT Ramaswamy joined the BJP under the leadership of Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur at the BJP office in New Delhi. BJP National President J. P. Nadda received him by draping the party shawl.

Speaking later, AT Ramaswamy said that he is happy to join the BJP. He said that he will work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Basavaraj Bommai.

Earlier, Ramaswamy met Assembly Secretary M. K. Vishalakshi and submitted his resignation letter. Ramaswamy, who has stayed away from JDS party activities, has now left the party and said, “I have resigned from the post of MLA with pleasure. Thanks to JDS for allowing me to work as an MLA for so long, I am satisfied that I have done the work very honestly. I am no individual. I did not do politics out of self-interest, I worked for the people when I was an MLA, I never said that I would leave JDS, but the JDS leaders expelled me from the party, saying that I had raised my voice against corruption.
