One death to H.3N.2 – the first death in the country

Hassan: A 78-year-old man from Alur taluk of the district died on March 1 in Alur. It is confirmed that he is O3O2 positive. OO3O2 is the first victim of influenza in the state. O3O2 has been detected in a senior citizen who died due to a fever, which has raised concern. He was suffering from fever, sore throat and cough. The department has confirmed that the deceased has O3O2 and has once again raised concerns about covid infection. This is not only the first death in the state but also the first in the country due to this virus. It may be recalled here that the first death of Covid virus also happened in Kalaburagi. DHO Dr Shivaswamy has informed that in the surrounding villages of the village where the elderly have died, "more health check-ups are being done. Those who are ill have been subjected to more tests. Throats have been sent to the lab. H3N2 has been detected in many districts of the state. More than 50 cases have been registered in the state. The health department has advised people with comorbidities and senior citizens to be cautious due to this fever, which has caused concern after Covid. The health department has come forward to monitor diseases like diabetes and people above 60 years of age. It is recommended to visit a doctor without taking self-medication for fever. 14-day monitoring: DHO Sivaswamy said that there was a notice to conduct a 14-day continuous inspection in the area around the farmhouse where the virus was detected and those who died, and action was taken accordingly.
