Alur: Old Honkaravalli villagers have warned that the authorities should cancel the permission to carry out illegal stone quarrying in the village, if the mining is not stopped, they will boycott the election as well as apply for euthanasia.

Villager Prakash said in a press conference that influential persons are trying to carry out illegal mining in survey no. 149 of Bela Godu Hobali Hosagadde village of Sakaleshpur taluk, next to survey no. And with the help of concerned officials and influential politicians, they have started mining, for the last six months, they have complained to Tehsildar, Lokayukta and Mining Minister, to which authorities are not responding. District and taluk offices are not paying any attention to the officials who gave the registrations. Villagers have been struggling for three months now. It is enough for the villagers to wander from their homes to the Sakaleshpur and Alur taluk offices. All the officials from the taluk level to the panchayat officials are involved. Officials, lured by money, are playing with the lives and lives of the poor. Even in this part, there are a lot of wildfires and it is difficult to live, and even the crops grown by many animals are getting damaged, and even the rice is not enough to eat. Now we have to face more difficult situation due to this mining, so the authorities should realize all these and cooperate with us to live our lives and should know the interest of the common people without helping the illegal miners, and should give us proper justice without neglecting the interest of the villagers and the public and should take appropriate action against those who are doing illegal mining. He said that he will fight fiercely in front of the District Collector’s office.

Villagers Yogesh, Rakesh, Chandru Kumar, Prakash, Annappa Guruprasad, Yogesh, and Nagesh were present at the press conference.
