Hassan: There was a clash in the background of the questioning of the wheeler and the incident ended in the murder of the wheeler and the people are running in fear. The number of wheelers in and around Hassan city has been increasing day by day, causing public annoyance. However, it has been complained that the police department has failed to control it.
Yesterday night at 8 o’clock in Hassan Nagar. Sumanth (20 years old), a resident of 80 Feet Road, is an auto driver, who took his bike out of his house and was wheeling near Gavenahalli in the city. Some youths of Gavenahalli village saw this and told Sumanth not to wheel it. There was a small conversation between the person who was wheeling and the youth. At this time the locals intervened and pacified the two sides and sent them away.
Sumanth, who was doing the wheeling, went back and after some time came back with two men with him, who brought a longu and a knife and started to attack him with a knife. Prajwal and other youths of Gavenahalli village took both the knife and the long from them and stabbed the auto driver Sumanth in the chest and stomach with a knife. Sumanth fell down and was rushed to the hospital. Sumanth, who was seriously injured, died in the hospital after the treatment failed. Sumanth’s father Ningaraju has registered a case in Hassan Nagar Barangay Police Station and started further investigation.
