Hassan: In connection with the Legislative Assembly elections, 24 Ghoras and 2 N.D.P.S. Cases have been registered and 21 accused have been arrested and a total of 178,080 liters of liquor, 7800 liters of beer, 30 liters of senti, 12 liters of kakhbhatti sarai, 30 liters of jaggery, 6.489 kg of dry ganja and 5 two-wheelers have been seized as excise assets of Goa state. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise said that the value would be Rs 7,23,178.
In rural areas, raids were conducted on retail and grocery shops, non-vegetarian hotels and dhabas and a total of 82 cases of illegal liquor sales were detected and 37 cases of violation of excise law were registered in liquor shops.
