Hassan: Rama’s japa and bhajan were performed everywhere as part of the special day of Sri Rama’s Jayanti. The devotees who came to the temple were given food in the form of panaka, buttermilk and prasadam.
Devotional songs and bhajans related to Rama were performed in the evening in the Sri Seetharamanjaney temple near Park Road in the city. On the day of Sri Ram Navami, special worship to the Lord and homams for the welfare of the people was performed from the morning. Buttermilk and Panaka Pulihogare were distributed to all the devotees who came. Even in various temples of Hassan, special puja prasad was offered, while some devotees of Sri Rama performed buttermilk, panaka, kosambari and food donations through the association. Rama Navami was also celebrated with grandeur at the 48ft Anjaneya Temple in Channarayapatna in the district with special decorations. Devotees used to arrive at the temple in the early morning. Ramanavami was also celebrated with devotion in Araseekere, Arakalagudu, Sakaleshpur, and Alur.
