Must serve society – Basavalinga shiva yogis

Konanur: Social service should be a part of a person’s life. How much social service a man has done is more important than how long he has lived. Sri Swatantra Basavalinga Shivayogi of Basavapatna Tontadarya Math suggested.
On the occasion of the Shivratri festival, he spoke at the Annadana program organized at Bisle Ghat for pilgrims from several villages including Keralapur, Ramanathapura, Konanur, Bettapura, Piriyapatnam who have been doing padayatra for about 23 years.
Mallesha Swamiji of Torenur Srimath said that parents should be seen as gods, those who have walked hundreds of kilometres and have darshan of Manjunath Swami at Dharamsthala, beg for whatever they want. But it is important to ask for the best for the parents, he said.
All the devotees who have been doing padayatra for 23 years and both Swamiji were honoured in the program. Food distribution was organized by the Dharmasthala Padayatra Committee of Keralapur.
