Belur: Electoral Officer Kumar announced that Taufik has been elected as the new President of Belur Fishermen’s Cooperative Society and Hanumantu as the Vice President.

Kumar Taufik, the returning officer of the cooperative society, was elected unopposed because Taufik was the only candidate in the presidential election held against the background of Hanumantu, the previous president of Fishermen’s Cooperative Society of Belur, resigning from his position. Similarly, Vice President Ragi Hanumanthu and Lokesh, Ravikumar, Gayatri, Netravati, Abdul Samad, Bhasha, Ahmed Sharif, Lingaraju, Saganaiah, Paramesh and Purnesha will act as directors of the Society, said Pragati leader Abdul Samad, who spoke to the newspaper. The Belur Fishermen’s Co-operative Society which came into existence has been paying attention to the all-around development of all the fishermen. According to Hanuman, who served as the first president, Mr Tawfiq has been allowed to resign from his position for the rest of the term. He said that the new president will respond to the demands of fishermen by considering the privileges given by the government to fishermen and the comprehensive problems of fishermen.

The new president Taufiq spoke. Belur Fishermen’s Co-operative Society, established by about 113 fishermen as shareholders, said that the first priority is to look after the interests of the fishermen. They have given Vishnu Samudra Kar in the town and Devikere in Karagada for the development of the cooperative society. Fish fry has already been stocked and the income from that will supplement the development of the association. Local fishermen should not be discriminated against in the privileges given to fishermen by the government. The Sangh will take action in the next few days so that the ineligible people do not get the facilities due to the alcoholics.
Fishermen should pay more attention to their safety and health first. He said that the cooperative society is fully committed to looking after the welfare of the members of the association at every moment.
