Hassan: Deputy Collector Anand launched the public awareness drive on air pollution control and transport safety organized by the Transport Department.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that in order to prevent road accidents across the state, work is being done to create public awareness about road safety and air pollution control it is unfortunate that young people are dying in accidents and this program has been organized to make them aware.
Vehicle owners and drivers should not allow illegal activities such as speeding, putting extra weight on the vehicle, or driving under the influence of alcohol, requested to check the vehicles from time to time and strictly follow the road safety rules.
He said that the process of permission to drive vehicles has already been simplified by the transport department and they should be put to good use. In this regard, an awareness vehicle is running across the district and will travel across the district for ten days to create awareness among the people of rural and urban areas.
Manjunath, Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, and District Correspondent Vinod Chandra were present on this occasion.
