Hassan: Farmers in the city’s Sant Pete had left young male calves on the market because they were not allowed to rear them. Praveen Gowda, a social worker noticed that these cute calves were eating plastic and soil for food and took them to the city council premises in an auto and rescued them.
As the calves were brought to the premises in an auto while the general meeting was going on, there was a tussle between the officials, municipal council representatives and Praveen Gowda on the issue of protecting the calves. Then, responding to his request, the Municipal Council Chairman R. Mohan and the officers left them in Araseekere Goshala and protected them.
Praveen Gowda, who spoke on this occasion, has recently been bringing and leaving calves at Sante. There is no protection for cows. Similarly, Hassan urged the district administration to take action to protect stray cattle and open a cowshed in the taluk to protect the owners. In the matter of the protection of cows, Animal Kindness Association should take action in this regard and request that this association should not be limited only to meetings and should also be involved in protection.
