Hassan: District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar handed over 26 lost and stolen mobile phones to the heirs today after they were traced through the CEIR portal.
This portal is being launched in the district on the direction of State Director General of Police Praveen Sood, he informed reporters at his office in the city. In the last month, more than 150 people have complained about mobile theft and loss. Out of those 26 mobiles have been found and are being handed over to the heirs today, he said.
The rest of the mobiles will also be confiscated soon. The CEIR portal can be used directly by the police or those who have lost their mobile phones. This will help in locating the mobile phone and returning it to its owner, he said.
