Commemoration of Dalit leader Jayaram Punya in the Kattinakere market
Hassan: The fifth-year commemoration program of pro-Dalit activist late BP Jayaram was held at Kattinakere market in the city today.
In the program, JDS leader HP Swaroop and Dalit leaders paid their respects by placing flowers on Jayaram’s portrait.
At this time H. P Swaroop said that Jayaram’s contribution to the Dalit movement is immense, his path of struggle is a guide for all and let us all follow his path.
Jayaram had a good association with my father late HS Prakash, it is a pleasure to participate in his memorial program, said Jayaram’s contribution to the downtrodden Dalits and oppressed community in the district was immense.
Dasamsa leader HK Sandesh said that the death of the late Jayaram, an honest fighter who had a simple gentlemanly personality, is an irreparable loss to Dalit Sangharsh Samiti. He worked hard for the welfare of Dalits throughout his life.
