Arakalagudu: District Collector Archana inspected the strong room set up in the Pre-Graduation College for Boys in the background of Assembly General Elections.
He inspected the facility and other arrangements required for the construction of a strong room for the safety and security of vote counting and voting machines. After speaking, he said, I came to check the background of giving the voting machines to the strong room. All kinds of arrangements have been made. He said that training is given here.
33 check posts were set up in the district and cash of 20 lakhs was seized in Arakalagud. 9883 litres worth of liquor, 144 grams of ganja, 44 lakhs Rs. He said that various stocks of value have been seized and 66 FIRs have been registered.
68 thousand new voters have been added to the district and some of them have already got their identity cards. Some people still don’t get it. He said that even if there is no voter ID card, the voters are on the list and can vote by providing other documents.
Returning Officer Suresh, Tehsildar Basavaredappa Ronad, Nodal Officer Maruthi, Revenue Inspector K.S. Lokesh, PAP chief Shivakumar, and health inspector Manjunath were there.
