Sakleshapura: Taluk Kurabattur Gram Panchayat Adaragere and Doddanahalli Village Jaganahalli Amma, Sugiamma, Kannambadiyamma and Kumara Lingeshwar Deva’s harvest festival was celebrated with grandeur.
With the onset of the rainy season, the people of the rural areas should not face any problem in their agricultural work, the village should be blessed with good rains, harvest festivals have been being conducted from the past to collectively offer special prayers to the village deity for the welfare of the village. Villagers enthusiastically participate in the festival. This temple has an ancient history and the harvest festival is being held once a year as per the tradition of this harvest festival which was conducted by the elders from the past. This time as per the tradition the villagers of Doddanahalli village gathered together and held a harvest festival of Jaganahalli Amma, Sugiamma Kannambadiamma and Kumar Lingeswara deity for three days.
Mulberry harvest on Thursday, big harvest on Friday evening and Saturday morning, and Sunday morning kendotsava and harake and fruit program were celebrated with great enthusiasm. On Friday night, the villagers gathered in the harvest field holding bows made of flowers brought from every house in the village and celebrated the festival on Saturday morning with hundreds of bows. The dancing harvest swept the gathered devotees along with Kushi in the sea of devotion. The special Kendotsava of God was held specially on Sunday morning as per tradition. Devotees and hundreds of devotees participated and received God’s grace. Then the actions of offering fruits and nuts to the deity were done ritually as per tradition. The villagers got darshan of God and became pure.
