Hassan: RTI workers of Channarayapatna taluk submitted a petition to the district collector alleging that there is excessive corruption in the Channarayapatna taluk office and that the officials are acting arbitrarily without accepting the demands of the farmers.
When a farmer applied to the department for information related to his land, it was sent back without being accepted, then the farmer contacted the RTI workers and told them about this issue. When Srinivas, the president of the RTI workers, and his team met Tehsildar Govindaraju and while giving this information, the Revenue Inspector M R Manjunath was video recording the RTI workers. In the end, he grabbed the phone and abused the Tahsildar with unspoken words. The RTI activists alleged that the tehsildar’s talk does not work here, but Revin Inspector M.R. Manjunath is the boss here.
In the past, departmental inquiries were held against M.R. Manjunath many times and he was transferred to another place, but he returned to the Channarayapatna taluk office in just three months. He demanded that the District Collector order a criminal case against him.
