Bagar Hukum Cultivation-Delay in the issue of title
Belur: Farmers union protested against the taluk administration and MLAs against Bagar Hukum cultivation in the taluk for several years and not issuing rights in 94C.
Karnataka State Farmers’ Union and Green Army activists staged a roadblock in Basaveshwar circle and protested against the taluk president of the farmers’ union, Bhogamallesh taluk, where more than 40 families have been living in survey number 46 for 30 years and they have not been given the title deed under 94-C till now. Even though the MLA’s office has been transferred to the Taluk Administration and District Officer’s office, they are not paying any attention to this issue. Although several committee meetings have been held for Bagar Hukum Cultivators in 50-53, the authorities here are delaying giving the right deed and account to the cultivators. He warned that if the delivery is not done, they will protest in front of the taluk office.
District Secretary Ballur Swami Gowda said that recently there has been an increase in the brutality and oppression of the officials on the farmers and the farmers are not only being harassed for money but corruption is rampant in all the departments. While the wage labourers are wandering for their right certificate, the cultivators are wandering for the cultivation certificate. Besides, they are losing thousands of rupees for the maintenance of the farmers’ equipment without being able to make the whole taluk a prodigal-free village. Also, the authorities are troubling the farmers by not giving benefits before the farmer sells the crops from the Horticulture and Agriculture Department and then giving the benefits. Till now for three consecutive years, they are helping the farmers without giving any assistance from the Agriculture Department and the Horticulture Department. He warned that he would not only protest fiercely against such people but also boycott his next election under the leadership of the villagers.
At the same time Basavaraj, Chandrasekhar, Dharma Gowda, Mallikarjuna, Kumaranna, Deve Gowda, Paramesh, Gange Gowda and others from Raitha Sangh were present.
