Electricity line hits coconut tree & catches fire-missed disaster

Konanur: Near the bus stand here, next to SL Raju’s house on the main road, a dry feather of a coconut tree fell on the 11 KV power line and suddenly caught fire around 6.30 am on Wednesday morning. When the matter was immediately brought to the attention of the electricity department, the department stopped the electricity supply from the wire that was passing next to the tree and avoided future calamity. It would have been a huge disaster if the power supply had been interrupted immediately. The fire went out after the dry feathers caught fire. As a result of the fire, the nuts fell down from the tree. Fortunately, no mishap occurred.
