The Spearhead Academy a centre for Media Studies, celebrated its 1st Christmas and Certificate Distribution Ceremony, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. The celebrations started with a high tea at 4:30 pm marking the celebration with a sense of fellowship.
The dignitaries adorned the dais at 5 pm and after the customary invocation song, Dr John D’Silva the Administrative officer welcomed all the dignitaries, invitees, faculty, and students receiving certificates. The Chief Guest of the day Rev Fr Sudeep Paul, Director, Sandesha a foundation for culture and education was offered a floral welcome and CA Valerian Dalmaida, Chairman of the Academy who presided over the programme was offered a bouquet and welcomed too. The Programme began with the cutting of a Christmas cake and then went on to listening to carols, a very typical part of the celebration of Christmas.
On completion of the courses on Advance photography and Adobe Photoshop, the Academy distributed the certificates to students. Since the students were from all over India and abroad the ceremony was in a hybrid mode where the students could join even online. While 7 of them attended the offline certificate distribution ceremony, more than 50 of them joined online. The certificates for Advance photography and Adobe Photoshop were distributed by the Chief Guest Fr Sudeep Paul and CA Valeria Dalmaida.
The Chief Guest of the day Rev Fr Sudeep Paul, Director, Sandesha a foundation for culture and education in his keynote address said, that the Academy under the visionary zeal of CA Valerian Dalmaida, has a huge potential for the growth of rural youth and the concept of earn while learn is unique in nature and distinguishing characteristic of the Academy. He also gave a short Christmas message for all pointing out that joy and peace are immediate needs of society for a better world.



With a grateful heart Lolita Dsouza, one of the students shared her experience of learning. The academy is doing something very commendable for society, skilling youth is a very noble job. I wish that the academy continues to provide a helping hand for society, where some of her points of sharing are.
CA Valerian Dalmaida in his presidential note rightly identified the seven students who had been there to receive their certificates, with the seven colours of the rainbow. He said, like the rainbow which wouldn’t be complete even in the absence of one, I request you to go out as each colour of the rainbow and be the ambassadors of our academy. Let the youth be inspired by you. He also expressed his vision that the maximum youth of the country should get employment, particularly the Karnataka rural youth, which is the key reason behind the pioneering of the Academy.
The programme witnessed a fitting conclusion with the vote of thanks by Ms Navya Shetty, HR Newskarnataka. Which was followed by a group photo session.
